| The Attleboro Area Council for Children is reaching
out to the community asking for help in enriching the lives of our littlest
citizens. This time, we’re looking for help to obtain space….permanent
space.
Since our inception
in 1972, our programs have grown and our
small office can no longer hold all of the programs and initiatives we are
currently managing, never mind all of the ideas we have for future programs.
Our flagship program, Christmas is for KidsTM, has been shuttled from one
place to another and it’s time for a permanent home!
Wouldn’t it be so much more convenient to know where
our elves are working from one year to the next? Wouldn’t it be
wonderful to have a place where the teddy bears could wait? How much fun
would it be to have a place for youth concerts or meetings…a place where
kids could learn management skills, community service and the joy of their
opinions being heard?

celebration...
with your help, we can build the building, brick by brick"

Our
desire is to open a
Children’s Cultural Center. We believe we need a place where families can
come together to simply celebrate children of all ages; where teenagers can
be an active part in the organization and creation of a program and learn
management skills in the process; where information or classes can be given
on topics such as parenting or budgeting; and where families can volunteer
together to make the community stronger.
The Council for Children positively impacts over 3,500 children per year in
our communities of Attleboro, North Attleboro, Seekonk, Norton, Mansfield
and Rehoboth - with no paid staff!
We’ve always done a good job of raising funds for all
of our programs and we thank you for your help over the years. Whenever
we’ve had an idea to help the children in our area, the community support
has been terrific.
So here’s what we need now: A BUILDING! We’re looking
for land or a building, preferably donated, to house our dream. Meanwhile,
we’re embarking on our first capital campaign fundraiser for the building.
If you can help us, please contact us by phone at
(508) 226-2336 or by email.
We are a registered 501(c) 3
organization.
